Faro Airport receives more than 8 million passengers per year and is one of the most important airports in the country. In addition to serving southern Portugal, Faro Airport is also the gateway into (or out of) of southern Spain.
If you live in southern Spain, do you think Faro is a good option?
There are many advantages to using Faro Airport, and we want to help you make the best choice with our post! 😉
Number of flights
Faro Airport is the third largest airport in Portugal, with connections to over 70 destinations in Europe. Furthermore, because it is an international airport, there are many direct flights, which makes the trip less tiring and shorter.
Faro Airport offers many (and great!) customer services. In addition to the basic services related to health, luggage, restaurants, ATMs and Wi-Fi, Faro Airport offers even more advantages, such as an app to support passengers, cafes and renowned restaurants, assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, tourism services and an exclusive lounge.
And as an extra treat, the airport offers a Fast Track service, which means passengers don’t have to waste time standing in queues.
Parking, access and public transport
Faro Airport has easy access, both by car and by bus. To get to Faro Airport by car, you can take the N125-10 national highway, which connects the airport and the N125 highway; by bus, the journey to the city centre takes 30 minutes using the Aerobus 19 line. Taxis are always a great option as well. The airport also has parking, as well as carsharing, Rent-A-car and Valetxpress services.
From Spain, you can take a bus from Seville. The buses are operated by two companies. See schedules here.
Huelva is 114 km or 1h17m away from Faro Airport. In other words, less than 1h30m separate the Algarve from southern Spain. Still not convinced that Faro Airport is the best option for you? The services, quality and number of flights make it worthwhile to come to Faro (not to mention the landscapes you will find along the way). 😉
Price: average cost of flights
The city of Faro and the Algarve are a great tourist destination. Faro Airport is an international airport serving not only the sunniest region of Portugal, but also the south of Spain. For this reason, Faro Airport has more flights as well as more promotions and affordable tickets on scheduled airlines. Faro Airport was the Portuguese Airport that grew the most in the first quarter of 2019, and it has an excellent offer of winter and summer routes.
Faro Airport can be your best option if you live in Huelva. Europe is just one flight away from Faro Airport!
