Philips had, and still have, a lot of influence on this city life. The company’s heritage is ubiquitous. You can visit the Philips Museum, in an old company building where the first lamp was made. The area called Striip-S or Forbidden City, formerly occupied by factories, is just a few minutes away from the center. With an area that occupies the equivalent of about 26 football fields, was for a few years a ghost town due to the empty facilities caused by the transfer of Philips companies to Amsterdam. Today is an open, creative and lively place. A good example of this is the FeelGood Market on the third Sunday of each month.
In the city center you will find shops, restaurants, cinemas and lots of diferente sights worth visiting. Most of the streets are best to discover on foot or bike. In a short walk you will discover several squares with restaurants and terraces that invite you to enjoy an outdoor chilling time!
